Heat Level: 1 Flame
Joey loves his wife Jasmine and his twins, Tammie and Tamala, but he is also frustrated because as much as he loves his family and God, he does not have the success that he wants so badly. Will his desire for success as a published author destroy everything he holds dear, or will he trust in God to bring him that which he most desires?
Joey was a handsome man with high cheekbones, bronze complexion, and dazzling hazel eyes. People often mistook him for Terrence Howard. A great family man, he loved his beautiful wife, Jasmine, and their two lovely twin daughters – at thirteen years old they’re already beginning to mature with curves like their mother. Joey’s heart skipped a beat as he watched his girls, Tammie and Tamala develop into young ladies.
He worked long hours as a chef and when he wasn’t working or spending time with his family he was writing a novels, short stories and poems. He had submitted several manuscripts to publishers hoping to receive a publishing contract. Every evening when he arrived home, after a hard days work, he was elated thinking about an offer that came in the mail or an e-mail requesting more information regarding one of his short stories, or an acceptance letter. But his anxiety was always to no avail. Jasmine’s heart ached as she witnessed the pain of disappointment that/which erupted across her husband’s face as he read his rejection letter.
