Has Fate finally delivered a Christmas angel?
For years, vampire Alexander May has lived in peace and solitude, emerging every so often to feed off the energies of unsuspecting women, while curbing the loneliness that has grated on him his entire existence.
Near Christmas, Alexander’s attention is perked by the alluring Tori Welch. To Alex, Tori shines. There is something so wonderfully different about her. That perhaps she is the woman who could love and accept him for what he is. The Christmas angel he so desperately hoped for.
But when a tragedy occurs eerily similar to another decades earlier, Alexander wonders if it is better to abandon his love for Tori to keep her safe, or is far too late to stop what Fate has in store for both of them this Christmas?
It was Christmas in a quintessential town
Tori Welch stood back from the crowds at the quaint Christmas market and simply took in its ambiance. Christmas carols played over a loud speaker, serenading the December shoppers going from stall to stall looking for that perfect handmade scarf, homemade jams and cookies, or that perfect Christmas ornament. Strings of twinkling fairy lights, wrapped around old fashioned light poles, resembled candy canes.
Perhaps next Christmas she might have her very own Christmas stall, selling her handmade candles and perfumed oils.
She looked up at the festively decorated tree towering over the market place. Anyone could be happy here. She could be happy here, she thought wistfully. Her fingers absentmindedly twisted the ornate sapphire ring on her left hand.
She didn’t want to think about Marik, or her old life. When she left him behind, she found she could not remove the ring from her finger. It was stuck—literally, and she wondered if he somehow used his magic to keep it permanently locked to her finger. A constant reminder of what they shared, what they could still share, if he had his way. They could have lived a perfect forever life together, but he wouldn’t give her what she wanted. In the end, she chose to say goodbye.
Tori pushed all thought of her old life away. She had a purpose for being at the market today, beyond soaking up the atmosphere of her new town, and spending way too much money.
“Look for the guy with the women all around him.” Her attorney, who had taken care of everything surrounding the inheritance of her new home, told her. “If his looks don’t grab you, the British accent will finish you off.”
Tori wasn’t looking for a man. She already had had one of those, and left him. Well, Marik was a man of sorts, just not a human one any longer.
Again, she twisted the ring.
Then all thoughts of Marik evaporated into the early December atmosphere, when she saw him. It wasn’t his coal black hair that fell in waves to his shoulders, or his tall perfectly proportioned body shrouded in a black leather coat blocking out the icy December air.
No, it was what he was.
Just like Marik.

"Wow, is the word I would use to sum up Forever Red Christmas. There are a lot of vampire stories readily available, but this novella is something special. Leave it to Natalie-Nicole Bates to give her readers a vampire story within a holiday story, with twists you won’t expect. Alexander May is not your garden variety vamp and he shatters most of the common myths. Tori Welch is different from most heroines in vampire fiction. She’s not quite a vampire, but not entirely human for reasons she knows, and a reason she doesn’t.
Erotically charged, Forever Red Christmas is an amazing read not just for Christmas but for anyone looking for a different kind of sexy vampire story."-Catey Blair, Night Owl Reviews
